Since the song "I Kissed a Girl" became a hit on the airwaves, Katy Perry has been criticized to be promoting homosexuality. But did you know that this 24-year-old hot and sexy singer was born to pastor parents and grew up listening to gospel music? Sounds odd isn't it?
Born as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson in Santa Barbara, California, Katy started singing in their church from age nine to sixteen. She also took voice and dance lessons, enrolling in at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, and studying Italian opera for a little while.
At age 15, Katy was signed to the Christian music label Red Hill and released her first album as Katy Hudson in 2001. The Gospel-rock album was unsuccessful and she later changed her surname to Perry, which is the maiden name of her mother, because her name was too close to film actress Kate Hudson.
Hot and sexy Katy soon signed to Capitol Records and began recording tracks for her official mainstream debut album, One of the Boys. In 2007, the video of "Ur So Gay" was released and in 2008, the album's official lead single, "I Kissed a Girl", peaked at number one for seven weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single, "Hot N Cold", was also a success, reaching number three on the charts.
Her album was a worldwide hit and has reached number nine on Billboard 200. Hot and sexy Katy even earned a nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2009 Grammys and was nominated in five categories at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. She won Best New Act at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, in which she co-hosted, and Best International Female Artist at the 2009 BRIT Awards.

At Dodger Stadium last night in L.A., Britney Spears was reunited with Madonna (and Justin Timberlake, yes, the two did cross paths!) for her Sticky and Sweet tour. Greeting her with a kiss on the hand and a "Hi Britney," Madonna was joined onstage by Spears during her song "Human Nature." Spears looked great in black and white as she sang the last chorus of the song. And as for the reunion with Timblerlake, the two said a simple "hi" to each other.
